This will be a busy Saturday at the Trading Post with three very different 2-hour workshops.
10am – noon – Complimentary Color Study for Spinners with Kate Larson. Bring your wheels/spindles and handcards if you have them. Some will be available to share.
1-3pm – Dyeing in the Kitchen: Color from Food Scraps with Sabine Schröder-Gravendyck. Waste not! Stockpile your avocado pits and skins and collect onion skins—they are color producers! Dyepots will be simmering for you to try.
3-5pm – North American Native Bees: Gentle and Essential with Sabine Schröder-Gravendyck. In this workshop you will get to know the native bees and how to distinguish them from wasps, flies and other flying critters. We’ll find out how they build amazing chambers for their kids and find food in our yards and gardens. You’ll learn how to create a habitat even in the tiniest space to attract them. Susan Markle’s farm with the Trading Post for Fiber Arts is a fantastic habitat for many different species of plants and animals. I’m sure we’ll meet these gentle little creatures in person!
